WE LOVE YOU Uncle Marty. You will forever be the coolest and funniest adult kid I’ve ever known! And even more special, my uncle who I loved infinitely. My boys are better humans because of how loved they knew they were by you and all that you taught them. I am a better person for the same. Heaven just got WAY more fun but we will miss you and your laughter here on earth so very much. We will ALL take care of your Margie in every possible way that we can, but you already know that. Love Traci and the boys
My deepest sympathies
Margie so sorry to read about your loss. He sounded like a very likable person. Take care and turn your pain to God, he will help you through this.
I have known Marty Smith for over 30 years. We were next door neighbors for twelve of those years. I have enjoyed many good meals and friendship at Marty and Margie’s home. My two favorite dishes were his Spicy Spaghetti and Pork Grillades and cheesy grits. Marty had a great sense of humor. He always had the funniest jokes for every occasion! I guess he picked up many of those in the plumbing sales business. Marty loved his animals. I thought his parrot Treble was the eighth wonder of the world! I can still hear Treble calling out “Come on in” when he heard a knock on the door. Marty and I would stay-up half the night drinking beer and playing video games at his house, good times. Mary was such a good guy, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
I’m going to miss that big voice of sense of humor. We will miss you my friend
I have known Marty for as long as I can remember through my parents who spent a lot of time with he and Margie. I will always remember all the funny stories he would tell. He had a way of making people laugh. He gave me my first acoustic guitar and encouraged me to learn how to play. He was a good man, a family man, and he and Margie were an example for the rest of us that true love does exist! He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, myself especially.
Margie, we are so sorry to hear of Marty’s passing. He will be greatly missed. We are praying for you, and the extended Smith family, as you move to the next chapter. Turning the page will be hard; that was such a great chapter! But God will guide you through as you hold all those memories close in your heart ❤️
Much love
A phone call or visit with Marty was never able to end without the two of us waxing poetically on life and times, living on this big round ball we all share. Marty lent a patient, wise and kind listening ear when needed. His responses were always meaningfully steady, and his intent always a voice of reason and wisdom. I am a far richer human being for having known your husband, Margie. Sending you nothing but the warmest of thoughts and love during this season of change 💜
