Obituaries

Margaret L. Roebuck passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was 96 years old. Margaret was born in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from Hampton Institute, now known as Hampton University. Margaret taught for 33 years in the business departments of Christiansted High School and St. Croix Central High School in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After retirement, she moved to Newport News, Virginia.

Margaret considered herself a “home person,” yet she traveled to Canada, the states in the eastern third of the US through to Florida, and the islands in the Atlantic — from Bermuda through to Curacao. 

She requested no memorial service, celebrations, or sadness. She asked that it be known that she is now on the most important trip of all.

She was preceded in death by her children, Earl Roebuck, Jr., and Susan Roebuck. She is survived by her stepchildren, Roland Roebuck (Sylvia), Wayne Roebuck (Carolyn), and Adalia Roebuck Torres; her nieces, Patricia Williams (Everett), Janice Robinson, Jasmine Coan Wilson (Kelvin), Aileen McCombs, Joyce Marie Sims; her grand-nieces Yasmeen Coan, Kelli Wilson, Kiara Parton, Alexis McCombs, April Young, Everett Allen Williams, Jr. (Kellie); and seven great-grand nieces/nephews.
