Loretta Rose Terry, 85, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and had lived in Newport News for 41 years. Loretta was a Roman Catholic and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Loretta will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Terry, daughter, Debbie Gayer, sons John Terry and Dennis Terry, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Terry (John). She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Shirey; three grandchildren, Mitchell Shirey, Matthew Shirey, and Christopher Terry; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Shirey and Dean Shirey; brother, Robert Blymyer; seven nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Choe Terry (Dennis); and grand-daughter-in-law Danielle Shirey (Matthew).
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
