With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin L. Jones, 51, of Newport News, VA on February 11, 2026.
After graduating from Warwick High School, Kevin attended Johnson and Wales where he became a talented chef, working at the Historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA and Schlesinger’s in Newport News, VA.
Kevin traveled for a few years then returned to Newport News, VA and worked at Costco for the
last nine years.
He was known for his passion for creating great meals and his love of the water. He also loved
to fish and was a fine fisherman.
Kevin was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer A Jones; and father, James L. Jones. He is
survived by his mother, Lisa B. Webb; sister, Melissa L. Rose; and daughter, Olivia.
He will be missed tremendously. A private remembrance service will be held with close family.

I’m saddened by the loss of Kevin. I was his girlfriend for the last 8 months. He was an amazing man who we connected with each other over our love of Jazz music and his love for the Miami Hurricanes (the team rubbed off on me). Our love of books and learning more about everything. He will be missed tremendously. I’m deeply sorry for his loss to his mom, sister, and niece, as well as his friends. I will never forget him. May he rest in peace.
