Joe was a dear friend to my father, Ray Hockaday who lived right down the road from him. He would come and visit often when dad was ill before his passing and keep him loaded with vegetables. He seemed to be very caring and genuine and generous. He will be missed by many.
He will be missed by many known him for more than 40 yrs. Visit Eddie and Lonnie at the Garden just about everyday I know they will miss their friend!
Joe and my dad, Allan Messick, were neighbors. I understand that Joe had a wood mill on his back acreage as well as a beekeeper who raised bees for honey. A very interesting gentleman who was highly grieved when Sandra, his daughter, suddenly died. He was the fixture on Bellwood Road. We will always cast our eyes in the direction of Sealy Farm Lane.
