Georg Ross

Georg Ross, 64 of Williamsburg, Va peacefully passed away in his home on Thursday December 26, 2024, in the presence of loved ones.
Georg is originally from Washington and has been a Williamsburg resident since 1999 and a Virginia resident since 1967. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Delbert and Margareta Ross.

At the age of 19 Georg enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country for 6 years. After he was honorably discharged, he started his career as a Heat Treat Technician for over 30 years and was most recently employed by Huntington Ingalls, Newport News Shipyard until his retirement in 2024.

Georg enjoyed spending time with family, reading war novels, watching movies, listening to 70’s music, and rooting for his favorite team the San Fransisco 49ers.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Tina, whom he recently celebrated their 29-year anniversary; 4 children George, Drew, Kyleigh, and Kayla; and 5 grandchildren, Allyson, Rylie, Hannah, Elias, and Madison. Georg is also survived by his siblings Debbie, Dean, and Ronnie.

A funeral service will be held in his memory at Peninsula Funeral Home (11144 Warwick Blvd Newport News, VA 23601), on Tuesday, December 31, at 10 a.m., with the committal taking place in Peninsula Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will host a viewing at the funeral home, Monday, December 30, from 5 – 7 p.m.

A reception will be held at 101 Lake Tower Drive, Hampton, VA 23666 (Marcella at Town Center resident lounge).

    Georg was an amazing man. I could not of asked for a better husband, partner and friend for my sister. The Love and dedication he had for his family was truly amazing to be a witness to over the years. I am honored to of loved him and had him in our lives.

    I only met him once, but, I will say I enjoyed spending time with him and Tina and Jazzy in their beautiful home. I am so grateful for that time and so sorry that was our only brief encounter. Our lord called him home. Rest in peace and praying that god looks after this sweet grieving family. 🙏🏻❤️
