Frank V. Migliore

Frank, a devoted family man and determined entrepreneur, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 28, 2024. Born in Carini, Sicily, on February 29, 1940, Frank immigrated to the United States in 1961, joining his brother in Virginia. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new country and language, Frank’s determination, strong work ethic, and perseverance defined his life.

He began working in the concrete business alongside his brother at V.M. Concrete Co. and moved to New York City in 1969, where he met and married his loving wife of 55 years, Maria. While in New York City, Frank held various jobs in the concrete industry. After a significant accident, Frank transitioned to the restaurant industry, opening Andrea’s Pizza in Newport News, Virginia, in 1972 with his brother-in-law Andrea. The restaurant thrived, and Frank opened a second location in Hampton in 1974. After selling the Hampton location in 2002, he worked for his nephews, Arif and Sayeed, at Ricco’s in Hampton before joining his son, Marco, at his new restaurant, Azzurri’s in Newport News, from 2008 to 2017.

Frank spent many successful years building his business, earning a reputation for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to his employees. Frank’s family was his greatest joy; he cherished every moment spent with them. One of Frank’s most remarkable qualities was his unwavering commitment to his job and family. He never took a vacation or traveled, dedicating himself fully to providing for his loved ones. Frank’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, love, and dedication.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Maria; children, Joe (Norma), Caterina (Travis), and Marco (Angie); and grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Oliver, and Mia.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Riverside Regional Hospice, who provided excellent care to Frank and the family in his last days. Flowers may be sent to Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601, or donations in Frank’s memory may be made to Riverside Regional Hospice.
