Charles Edward “Ed” Powers, 78, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Sentara Careplex Hospital. Born in Newport News, VA, Ed dedicated 43 years of service to the City of Newport News Waterworks, contributing significantly to the community he loved. Ed was a man known for his kindness and generosity.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Powers. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 22 years, Carole Powers and many other relatives and friends. In remembrance of Ed’s life, private services will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
