Fannie Shifflett Morris

Fannie Shifflett Morris, 89, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, with family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1935, and was a native of Green County and a resident of Hampton for 70 years. Fannie was a homemaker and a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved raising vegetables in her garden and planting flowers in her yard.

Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Morris; sons Melvin R. Morris and Roy L. Morris; four sisters, Virginia Slaughter, Maryann Page, Bessie Keaton, and Ethel Shifflett; and three brothers, Jesse Shifflett, James E. Shifflett, and William Shifflett.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Morris Lesser (Butch), and son, Michael A. Morris; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Lesser, Matthew Lesser, Meagan Lesser, Rachel Kidd, Crystal Hildt, Nick Brooks, Sierra Morris, and Elijah Morris; 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew Lesser, Jr., Brendan Lesser, Cohen Lesser, Cheyenne Teeters, Emmalea Teeters, Kate Kidd, Avalyn Lesser, Elisabeth Lesser, Patrick Lesser, Abigail Lesser, and Cameron Lesser; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Following the service, the burial will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park.
