Won C. Chenault, 83, of Newport News, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, in Riverside Hospital. Born in Pusan, South Korea, she was a U.S. Citizen and had resided in Newport News since 1981. Her most important occupations were mother, housewife, and spouse. She was a KGS-5 Clerk-Typist for the U.S. Army in Korea before her marriage. Won has been a member of the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church since 1981. She was a member of the Peninsula Korean Women’s Association and other activities within the Korean community.

Won was preceded in rest by her parents, Kim Bong Do and Huh Man Kwi. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven L. Chenault, of Newport News; son, Dale M. Chenault of Seattle, Washington; sisters In Ok Park of Atlanta, Georgia, and Miss In S. Kim of Baltimore, Maryland;  brothers Kim Chang Kuk of Seoul, Korea, and In Kuk Kim of Fairfax, Virginia.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 24, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Funeral Home.
The memorial service will be held at the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church,  972 Harpersville Road, Newport News, on Saturday, November 25, at 10:00 a.m.  

A memorial dinner celebrating her life will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. The interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church.
