William “Bill” Robert Buzzard, 81, of Hampton, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 10, 2022. 

Bill was a native of Indiana and was the son of the late Mary F. Sterrett and her husband, Fred.  He was a Viet Nam veteran and retired after serving 21 years in the U.S. Army.  After his service, he worked for the State of Virginia Port Authority, retiring after 26 years. Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo University.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Carole Noell Lenna.   Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Marie; daughter Shirley M. Spell; grandson Christian W. Spell; sister Marvetta Bee and her husband Randy; nephew Randy II and his wife Meredith; son-in-law James Lenna; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.  Inurnment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
