Walter “Chip” Patrick Lang

Walter “Chip” Patrick Lang, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on August 21st, 2024, at the age of 94.

Chip was born in Bloomsburg, PA on January 13th, 1930. He shared a home with 12 siblings, and after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. In a Military career spanning 30 years, he achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and continued to support our troops as a civil servant until his retirement. A veteran of the Korean War, he was honored to serve our country and proud of his affiliation with the Brotherhood of the Masons. A quiet, humble man, Ship took joy in helping others. He instilled the values of hard work and perseverance and, with his devoted wife (Margaret) of 65 years, created a supportive and loving home for his three children: Donna (Bobby), Rick (Cathy), and Steve (Pam). His five grandchildren brought him continuous joy and comfort: Steven (Ally), Sarah (Joe), Gannon (Zanetta), Davis, and Sagan. They will always cherish their time spent with their grandpa and mourn that he has passed. Our “littles” (great grandkids), Madelyn, George, William, Izzy, and Margaret, will also benefit from his wisdom and kind spirit.

Chip epitomized the term “random acts of kindness” and would often deliver flowers and/or baked goods to his local veterinarian, physician(s), dentist, and car mechanic. He will be forever remembered for his playful antics and his love for his “fur babies”. The loss that his family feels will be comforted by those impacted by his generosity.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The graveside service at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery will be held on Thursday, September 19, at 1:00 p.m.
