Thomas Francis Doherty, Jr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Tom, as he was known, was born January 25, 1938, in Jamaica Plain, MA, to Thomas and Marian Doherty and remained in that area until enlisting in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Langley Air Force Base, VA, and remained in

the area for the remainder of his life. Tom was a broker for Frank and Shapiro Real Estate, Inc., a job he loved for over 60 years before retiring in June 2023. He enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed playing poker with friends.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Christine Doherty; beloved father to daughters Cindy Levine and husband Layne, Terri McCaughan and husband Kevin, Kelly Ashley and husband Ken, and Lori Chaney and husband Paul; stepdaughter Becki Hurley. Tom’s grandchildren are Adam and Jake Rose, Gray and Aubrey Levine, Carter Ashley, Thomas, and Allison Chaney; step-grandsons Aaron, Logan, and Dustin Hurley; step-great-grandson Elliot Rhea-Hurley. He is also survived by his sister Marnie Lawton; three nephews; and longtime friend and colleague Leonard Frank.

Tom will be forever missed, and his family and friends will cherish his memory.
