It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many, Swannee Womack, age 99, of Newport News, transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Monday, November 28, 2022.

She was born May 26, 1923, in Erwin, N.C. to Luther and Emma Evans.  Along with her late husband, Ernest, they owned and operated Womack Foundry, Inc. They were both pilots, flying for business and pleasure.  

At age 19, Swannee accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a long-time member of the Church of God of Prophecy and a founding member of the All Nations Church.

Swannee served her Lord faithfully, supporting missionaries, teaching bible classes, and a special calling to phone encouragement and counseling to friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Barker, Tina Wilson, and Joanne Womack; grandchildren, Julie, Lori, Amy, Chris, Tammy, Emily, and Brian; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Zachary, Noah, Abby, and Gabe; and great-great-grandchildren, Caden, Maverick, Elijah and Rebekah.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1 at 9:00 a.m. at All Nations Church, 853 Cloverleaf Ln., Newport News 23601, with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park.
