Sharon W. McEnerney, 72, of Yorktown, Virginia, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on October 13, 2023. She was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, until she moved to York County with her husband and children in 1982. Sharon enjoyed staying home to raise her two girls, gardening, reading, sewing, watching sports (especially her Miami Dolphins), and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being a member of the Magnolia Red Hatters. Sharon was loved and adored by many and will be missed terribly.

Sharon was preceded in rest by her loving husband, Ronald L. McEnerney; her parents, Sam and Mary Winfrey; and her grandson, Connor Tolbert.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Shelly (Brent) Tolbert and Kelley Boyce; sister, Sandra Wolpert; brother, Sammy (Cissy) Winfrey; brother, Steve (Debbie) Winfrey; sister-in-law, Susan (Jesse) Grooms; two grandsons, Brandon and Drew Tolbert; two granddaughters, Victoria and Bayleigh Boyce; along with several nieces and nephews. Sharon also leaves behind many loving friends and family to cherish her memory.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601. A burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
