Rhumell G. Venable, 98, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. She was a native of Mount Airy, NC, and a Peninsula resident since 1952. Friends and family will miss her Sunday dinners, Fruit Cakes, and German Chocolate Cakes.

Rhumell was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Venable.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Johnson, Sue Compton and her husband Woody, Lynn Temple and her husband John; son Larry Venable and Geretta McClave; six grandchildren, Deborah, Travis, Jason, Adam, Justin, and Trevor; and five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Caitlin, Caleb, Avery, and Kyle.

A visitation will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family will have a private graveside service at Peninsula Memorial Park.
