Regis P. Meloy, 72, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in Riverside Hospital, Newport News, VA.  He was a native of Latrobe, PA, and had been a resident of Newport News for 43 years.  Regis served in the United States Marines for eight years, reaching the rank of Sergeant.  He served in Vietnam and received the NDS Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Pistol Rifle Sharpshooter badge.  Regis was a Police Captain and Instructor for the federal government and retired from the Naval Weapons Station after 35 years of service.

Regis had a great love of keeping healthy and bodybuilding;  he also enjoyed fishing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his spouse, Rose Meloy; son, Regis A. Meloy; two grandchildren, Grayson A. Meloy, and Griffin W. Meloy; his mother, Maxine Meloy, sisters Kathy Bossart and Linda Robb; brothers-in-law, Bill Robb and Wayne Bossart; and niece Jennifer Robb and nephew Billy Robb.
