Patsy Ruth Moorefield, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. She was a native of Newport News and resided in Lanexa for over 30 years. Patsy was an Administrative Supervisor for Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority for over 25 years and was a St. Andrews Episcopal Church member. She was an avid Disney supporter, enjoying numerous trips to Disney World.

Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Q. Moorefield, and daughter, Sheri Costner.

She is survived by her daughter, Cyndie Ayres; son, Clayton Q. Moorefied, Jr.; three grandchildren, Emily Daniels (Quincy), Andrew Costner (Chloe), and Madison Costner; and three great-grandchildren, Jasiah Daniels, Adrianna Daniels, and Charlotte Costner.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The funeral service at Peninsula Funeral Home will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., officiated by Father Carleton Bakkum. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
