Nancy Elizabeth Anderson passed away at home on Thursday, February 25, 2021. She was a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a resident of Newport News, Virginia for 16 years. Nancy received her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 1991 at the College of William & Mary. She was employed with the York County School system for 26 years, most recently at Tabb High School. She was a member of Waters Edge Church in Yorktown.

Nancy was preceded in rest by her grandson, Austin Hoard and parents, Mary and Eugene Dailey. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Daniel Anderson; daughter, Jennifer Hoard and husband, Evan; son, Daniel Anderson, Jr. and fiancée, Leslie Katherine Tapia; grandchildren, Jillian Hoard, Ian Hoard, Nadia Anderson, Ian Percira, and Mateo Zegarra; brother, Tom Dailey; mother-in-law, Brunhilde Anderson; family in Europe; and friends in St. Maarten.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Boulevard, in Newport News.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 3, at the funeral home. Livestreaming of the service will be available at www.peninsulafuneralhome.com/video. Guests are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization dear to Nancy and her family.
