Mildred H. Kennedy, 88, died peacefully in her sleep, in the early hours of March 17^th, 2024, in Chesapeake, VA. She was born on June 15^th , 1935 in Henry County, VA, to the late Charlie H. and Della M, (Holt) Hopkins. She was predeceased in death, by her doting husband of 45 years, Duane Kennedy

Millie was the eighth of the ten children, that came from the Blessed union of Charlie and Della May, and she was the last one to pass away. Her siblings were: Jesse Hopkins (Doris), Elma Stout (Edgar), Katherine Wiggington (Junior), Clarence Hopkins (Lucy), Troy Hopkins (Barbara), Earnest Hopkins, Levie Holland (Sidney), Aileen Davis (Joe), and Linda Hines.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Glenda Brown (Sean D. Donovan); her grandson, Denny Brown Jr. (Trina); and two great grandsons, Cody and Aiden. As well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Oak Grove Health and Rehab Center and Amedisys Hospice, for their compassionate and devoted care.

Funeral services at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, Virginia, will be held Sunday March 24th 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Burial service to follow at the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia.
