Mary Cassandra Morris Taylor, 77, of Newport News, VA, passed away at Riverside Hospital on August 24, 2024.

She was born in Richmond, VA, on June 13, 1947, to Elizabeth and Wilbur Alvyn Morris.  Sandy was raised in Wakefield, VA, and was awarded degrees in Anthropology and Education at the College of William and Mary.  She worked as a librarian at Grissom Library and taught at Newport News Public Schools and Gloria Dei Lutheran School in Hampton, VA.  Sandy was a licensed Realtor with Powell and Associates and helped with the purchase and sale of many homes over the years.

Sandy was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Morris Richardson and Winifred “Billie” Morris Peebles. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Glenn R. Taylor, her children, Christopher R. Taylor, of Saint Andrews, Scotland, and Kimberly A. Hailer, of Newport News, VA; her sister, Jean Morris Foster, of Yorktown, VA, and her grandchildren Jacob and Aaron Taylor and William and Emma Hailer.

A funeral service will be held for Sandy at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 250 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, VA, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2 pm.  s
