Mark Avery Hancock, 58, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023.  He was a native of the Peninsula and a resident of Newport News.  Mark was a Master Firefighter for the City of Newport News and retired after 32 years of service.  

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Wade E. and Patsy L. Hancock and is survived by his wife, Stephanie Hancock; son, Bradford Hancock; sister, Deborah Hancock; sister-in-law, Janet Hooks; aunt, Dianne Causby; and nephew, Christopher Hooks (Nicole).
Mark loved his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed by them all.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 9:30 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
