Maria “Maritza” Isabel Reyes, 70, passed away on November 4, 2021. She was a native of Patillas, Puerto Rico and a resident of Newport News for 33 years. She was a childcare provider for 26 years and was of the Catholic faith.

Maria was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Garcia Clausell; mother, Candida Cintron Rivera; and brother, Alberto Lopez Cintron. She is survived by her sons, Jovanni Reyes and Kenny Reyes; grandchildren, Kiara, Alondra, and Miguel; sisters, Idalia, Lourdes, Gloria, Maria, Sylvia, and Carmin; and brothers, Jose, Roberto, Harry, Edwin, Edison, and Miguel.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 9 and 10, 2021 both from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings.

The family will receive guests at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Road, Newport News, followed with a service at 6:30 p.m.
