Lawrence Allen Wilkins, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a resident of Hampton and Newport News for most of his life. Lawrence was a member and a Deacon of West Hampton Baptist Church. He was Past Worshipful Master of Monitor Masonic Lodge, Lodge No. 197 in Hampton (1977), and a member of Warwick Masonic Lodge No. 336, Newport News.  Lawrence was an Automotive ASE Master Technician until his retirement.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Wilkins and Iva Wilkins, sister, Doris Kelly, and son, Garry Wilkins.   He is survived by his wife, Zee Wilkins;  daughter, Linda Rice (David); sons, Larry Wilkins (Peggy) and Randy Wilkins (Patty);  stepdaughters, Debbie Jenkins, Kathie Bozsik, Edna Selby, and Cindie Deaton (Jeff); stepson, Chuck Selby (Connie); 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28th from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at West Hampton Baptist Church.  A celebration of Lawrence’s life will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Danny Owens and Pastor Bryan Breland. The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
