Kermit Chapman

Kermit Chapman, a retired Air Force Veteran, passed away on October 30, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in West Virginia on October 21, 1930, and spent his life walking with the Lord on the straight and narrow.

Kermit is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Betty; his devoted children Diana, Debra, Crystal, and Kermit; his adoring grandchildren, Jennifer, Carl (deceased), Katlyn, Mathew, Daniel, Stephen, and Joseph; and his great-grandchildren Gabrielle and Wyatt.

A memorial service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home in Newport News on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the U.S. National Park Service.

    I’m heartbroken to hear about Uncle Kerms passing! My Prayers are with you and the whole family! Uncle Kermit was a VERY Special man and I will always looked up to him and my memories are all very Special. I will keep you in my PRAYERS. I was in the fifth grade, came from saint louis up there.Met your mom, dad, aunt bessie and steven and it’s such a wonderful time.So sorry to hear what happened?I wish I could have gotten to know in the rest of the and is, does anybody know where your old house is or anything?Maybe I can make it into a resort or something, and I’d like to talk to some of the people up there, your relatives, kids or whatever I live in saint louis
