Karola Agnes Pentecost passed away to be with her Lord Jesus Christ the morning of January 28, 2022 from Alzheimer’s.  Karola was born in Wurzburg, Germany and moved to the United States in the 1960’s.  She met and married her late husband of 59 years, Nelson S. Pentecost and they made Newport News, Virginia their home.  Karola was a soldier’s wife and a homemaker; however, being the leader she was, she was very active in the Tidewater German American Society.   She was also active in the Women’ s Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 368 in Newport News.  Karola loved donating her time, and even though she was active in club functions, she still made time for the family that she loved dearly and would do everything to support them including having mealtimes available.

Karola is survived by her daughter Judy Pentecost and son Norman Pentecost, both of Newport News; grandchildren Bryan Ellis, Brandon Ellis, and Brittney Jensen from her daughter Judy and Natalia Pentecost, daughter of her son Norman Pentecost; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at 3:00 p.m. Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.

Thank you, Mom for everything, and for the fond childhood memories.  We Love You.  You will be missed Mom “Omi”. Until we see each other again.
