Joseph Gregory Foretich Jr; “Greg”, 87, passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2023. Greg was a native and lifelong resident of Newport News. He attended Warwick High school where he excelled in multiple sports. After graduation, he was employed first by the railroad before starting his career at Newport News Shipbuilding where he retired as a supervisor after 37 years of service. He was an electrician by trade but was also skilled and knowledgeable in many different aspects of building and repair.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara; son, Chris; parents Joseph Sr. and Joyce’ and sister Bunny. 

He is survived by sons, Paul, Doug, and Danny; daughters-in-law Karen, Ginger, and Leisa; six grandchildren; brother-in-law George; and siblings Pat, Bill, and Jane.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 15, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
