Joseph Daniel Franceschi
Joseph Daniel “Danny” Franceschi, 72, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, August 20, 2021, just three weeks after the death of his daughter, Jennifer Franceschi Campbell. Danny was a 1967 graduate of Peninsula Catholic High School and a 1972 graduate of the Shipyard Apprentice School. As an apprentice he worked in the foundry. He later transferred to 058 where he remained until his retirement.
Danny was very active in Deer Park Little League serving over 20 years as President. He loved all the kids but he really enjoyed announcing those games.
While active in the Virginia Democratic Committee he once drove in the Presidential Motorcade in Williamsburg where he got to meet and shake hands with President Clinton.
Danny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Jones Franceschi; sons, Michael Franceschi (Melody) of Newport News and Todd Franceschi of Hampton; sister, Susan Franceschi (Gary); brother, Eugene Franceschi (Claudia) of Seaford, Delaware; sister, Antionette Durick of North Tonawanda, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
A combined memorial service will be held for both Danny and Jennifer at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at the chapel of Liberty Baptist Church, 1021 Big Bethel Road in Hampton, Virginia.

Thank you Bonnie. Your words are so kind. I didn’t even have time to process Jenn and her friend Amanda’s death 15 days apart when Danny passed. It has all been so much to take in in such a short time. Thank you also for being at the memorial service. As Momma would say, “one day at a time.” That is how I plan to get through.
