John Center Collett, 71, passed away on December 25, 2021. He was born on January 10, 1950 in Rockwood, TN to the late Benson M. and Bettye A. Collett. John was a longtime resident of Newport News. He retired from Newport News Public Works and enjoyed boating and fishing.

John is survived by his loving wife, Cornelia A. Collett; daughter, Rhonda Collett; brother, Benson M. Collett, Jr; sister, Alice M. Williams; and many other family members.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Peninsula Memorial Park.
