JoAnn Burrell, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Riverside Hospital.  She was a native and resident of Newport News.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Coffey, father, George Mowry, and life-long partner-Dale Beck.  She is survived by her son, Larry Burrell, and his wife, Tracy; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Mowry and Brain Mowry; one niece, one nephew, and close friend, Becky Sheets.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at  Parkview Baptist Church, with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park.  Facial masks and social distancing will be required.
