Jasper A. Banks, Jr., born October 10, 1954, to Jasper Alexander Banks and the late Nancy Lee Drew in Newport News, Virginia quietly slipped into eternal rest on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

A brick mason by trade, he helped construct many homes in the Newport News area. His free time was spent making art and spreading joy to all that crossed his path. A loving father and supportive friend, he was always there to brighten the day with a great joke or a story from days past.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Jasper Banks, son, Lamont Banks, daughter, Jazmine Shepherd (Aleah), two aunts, Yvonne Little and Alice Mae Chapman, uncle, Carnell Drew, five grandchildren, a plethora of cousins, two special women in his life, Sybil Shepherd and Sylvia Banks, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Boulevard, in Newport News.
