James David West, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was a native of Gloucester, VA, and a Newport News, VA resident. James worked for AAFES as a Materials Handler Inspector for about 15 years. He was a member of Hope Church at Lee Hall.

James is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy West; father, James Tyler West; and brother, Wayne West.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathy Louise West; three children, Denise West, James West, Jr., and Joshua Arthur West; three stepchildren, Corey McNeil, Erica McNeil-Ayad, and Donna Edwards; brother, Mitchell West; sister, Sherry West; along with numerous grandchildren.

A service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., followed by a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home.
