Douglas Leroy Carrow
Doug Carrow, 61, of Newport News, passed away on January 8th after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s. Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Carrow (2017), and his father, Garland Carrow (2023). Doug is survived by his sister Cindy Carrow of Yorktown, two nephews, Mason Jarrett (Jennifer) of Newport News and Daniel Vickrey of Richmond, a great-nephew Alex Jarrett of Newport News, uncle and aunt Vett and Grace Arnold of Greenville, NC, and two special friends Bob Edwards and Brady Wooddell. While Doug resided at the Gardens at Warwick Forest, Bob and Brady were faithful and frequent visitors, sharing past good times, bringing him food treats, and always leaving Doug better than they found him. Many thanks to the nurses and staff in the Piedmont unit who cared for Doug in the most loving manner and hairdresser Juliette, who kept him looking good during his 3-year stay, and for the visits to him in his last days. Interment will be at a later date in N.C.

Doug has been a great friend since high school. We enjoyed mountain biking, working on Datsun Z cars and hanging out. He was my best man in my wedding and always there to help when needed. You will be surely missed. Rest in Peace

Mr Doug was such a nice man. When I visit my mom at the Gardens he always had a smile. My heartfelt condolences.
