Dorothy Anne Sutherland, 83, passed away on February 12th, 2022. Born on December 20th, 1938 in Salisbury, Maryland. She spent 80 years in Newport News, Virginia where she retired from Sam’s Club after working for 8 years as a greeter. Dorothy loved to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. The only thing she loved as much as her grandkids were her poodles which were her four legged babies. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Walker and Elsie West, her late husband, Louis Mason, her brother, Joseph Walker, and her son, Russell Mason. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Sutherland, her daughter, Alice “Cissie” Teel, her grandchildren, Alan Teel, Jamie Ysasi, Jennifer Teel, and her great grandson, Jackson Lee. Services will be held on February 25th, 10 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
