Dean Spangler

Dean Spangler, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 27, 2021. He was born to Arno and Wilmath Spangler on November 21, 1935. Dean grew up in Newport News, graduating from Warwick High School. He lived in Williamsburg most of his adult life.

Dean was Superintendent of Streets and Roads, City of Hampton, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of Orcutt Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and Ronald. Dean is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Jackie. Additional survivors are his daughter, Connie Diakun (Pete), grandchildren, Christa Poitras (Ryan), and Nate Diakun (Esther), and great-grandson, Jackson Poitras.

Memorial donations may be made to FISH, Inc., 312 Waller Mill Road #800, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Due to COVID restrictions, burial will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Peninsul
