Bruce Erwin Crim, 68, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at his home in Hampton, Virginia. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in April 1996, having been assigned to the Cargo Handling Battalion 10, Cheatham Annex, York- town, Virginia. After his service in the Navy, Bruce went on to work with the Newport News Behavior Health Center Maintenance as a Manager and retired after 14 ½ years of service.

Bruce attended Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, was a member of the American Legion, NRA, and Lafayette Gun Club.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father and mother Edward K. Crim and Geraldine R. Crim and brother, Dale W. Crim. He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Crim; two sons, Keith D. Crim (Amanda Robidoux) of Maine and Brandon M. Crim (Stephanie Sauer) of Virginia; six grandchildren, Kayla Acosta (Crain), of Texas (Dominic), Sarah Crim of Oregon, Ryleigh Crim of Virginia, Chloe Crim, of Maine, Ava Crim of Maine and Mekennah Crim of Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Gail D. Crim (Dale) of Virginia and Lisa G. Fostar of California; two brothers-in-law, Michael Fostar, of California and David W. Cooley of Florida; uncle, Jeffrey L. Richardson (Barbara Turner) of North Carolina; and seven nieces and nephews, Vanessa Barba (Crim), of California, Edward Crim, of Nevada, Jenna Ash (Crim), of Pennsylvania, Lailah Randolph (Crim), of Virginia, Amanda Burcell (Kempter), of Kentucky, Jeffrey Kempter, of California and Rebecca Kempter, of New York.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 18, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia 23601. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with interment following at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Guests are required to wear masks and keep their social distance.
