Betty Jo Ealey-Hudson, age 61, came into this world on June 29, 1961, and passed on to the next life on December 5, 2022.

She was a native of Smithfield, VA, and a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. Betty was a graduate of Smithfield High School, class of 1979, and received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Licensure after completing the CNA Training Program through the Pruden Center for Industry and Technology in 2007. She served her community as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Consulate Healthcare of Windsor for 15 years. Betty was a dedicated Christian throughout her life and embodied the Christian values of selflessness, forgiveness, and unconditional love. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and community servant whose perpetual optimism and cheerful demeanor shined on all those she encountered.

Betty’s passions and talents were many, from country-western dancing to sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She above all loved being a mother and a caretaker; Betty always concerned herself with others, their well-being and comfort, above her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Mary Ealey, and two brothers, Robert and Donald Ray Ealey. Betty is survived by her husband, Larry Hudson; sons, Joseph and Elisha Gueli; sister, Donna Pierce; brother, Larry Ealey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on December 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Peninsula Funeral Home.
