Carla Jean Westerman passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2026.
Carla was a Hampton resident for close to 50 years and truly loved the city. From supporting Hampton-based businesses and organizations to summer weekends spent at Buckroe beach, she was a Hampton girl.
Carla was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church, a 1987 graduate of Hampton High School, and graduated from Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia in 1991.
Carla was loyal, dependable, reliable, and industrious. She inherited these characteristics from her hard-working parents and put them to good use as a longtime employee of Sentara. Carla was proud to support the Sentara mission.
Carla was an excellent cook. Her desserts, particularly the cheesecakes, and Thanksgiving dressing were legendary.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Westerman. She is survived by her brother, Edward Westerman; an aunt, JoAnne Jarrett; and several cousins in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Illinois.
Carla was quiet and unassuming but will be missed by all with whom she interacted.
