Wendy Jo Pyle

Wendy Jo Pyle, cherished wife, mother, sister, and devoted educator, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, in Gloucester, Virginia, at the age of 56.

Born in Miami, Florida, Wendy pursued a life dedicated to learning and teaching. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Troy State University and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Education from Old Dominion University. Wendy proudly served as a teacher within Newport News Public Schools for 14 years, where she was known for her unwavering commitment and passion for her students. Her dedication to education was truly 100%, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives.

Beyond the classroom, Wendy enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid billiards enthusiast. She was an esteemed member of the American Pool Players Association, where her competitive spirit and camaraderie were well appreciated.

Wendy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lars and Pamela Allen. She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Christopher Pyle; her loving children, Thomas “TJ” Krohn, Jennie Krohn, and Brandon Pyle; and her sister, Janice Allen.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Wendy will be held on her birthday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, located at 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601. Family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.

Wendy Jo Pyle’s spirit, kindness, and dedication to education will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
