Obituaries

Nancy Marie Blymyer, 86, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Newport News. She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a resident of Newport News, Virginia, for 60 years. Nancy was a kindergarten Assistant for the Newport News Public Schools and retired after 25 years. She was a long-time member of St. Jerome Catholic Church since 1967; a member of the Catholic Daughters at St. Jerome’s; and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert E. Blymyer, and her parents, Rose and Bill Fabian. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Steen, and her husband, Jimmy; and her three sons, Robert (Bobby) S. Blymyer and his wife, Joyce; Thomas (Tommy) R. Blymyer and his wife, Shellie; and William (Billy) E. Blymyer and his wife, Becky. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow. After the service, a repass will be held at the Knights of Columbus Lodge, 12742 Nettles Drive, Newport News, VA 23606.
