Douglas Knox Nunnally passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded in love by his wife, daughter, and niece. Doug was a man who lived exactly the way he wanted: with humor, heart, a love for the outdoors, just the right amount of mischief, and a disdain for spending unnecessary money.
Doug was many things: an avid skier, an entrepreneur, a tennis player (who didn’t appreciate getting beat by his own daughter!), a sailor who loved being on the water with his dog, an adventurer, a fisherman (or so he liked to think), a lover of great music, and a hard worker. Doug’s dream was to live on the River, and he made that dream a reality – he was happiest sitting in his backyard, cocktail in hand, watching the sunset, and telling stories with his wife or best friend, Bart. His sense of humor and stubborn generosity left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
He taught me, his daughter Lauren, how to fish, how to camp, how to laugh, how to never complain, how to prepare for whatever life might throw at me, and how to never pay full price for anything. He taught me that a good life isn’t about spending big – it’s about living fully, laughing often, and always appreciating a beautiful view.
Doug believed in simple joys, smart living, and not making a fuss – so we’ll honor him by keeping this short, sweet, and just under budget. Cheers, Dad. May we all be a little funnier, a little thriftier, and a little freer because we knew you. Raise a glass and find a good bargain in his honor!
