Calvin “Dilly” Dellinger, Jr.

Calvin “Dilly” Dellinger, Jr. passed away at his home in Hampton, Monday, November 11.

Calvin retired from NN Shipbuilding after over forty years of service. He worked initially in steel fabrication and later as a planner.

Calvin loved going to the movies, eating cheese puffs, drinking diet Pepsi and watching his westerns.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Elizabeth and father, Connie Dellinger, Sr.

Calvin is survived by a son, Shaun Dellinger (Rachel) of NN; sister, Elaine Caton (Talmadge) of Hampton; three grandchildren, John Roane, Rachel Dellinger and Elizabeth Dellinger; nieces, Belinda, Gail; and great nieces and nephews, Josh, Jenna, Nick and Jordan.

There will be a family visitation at Elaine’s home in Hampton on Sunday, November 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The graveside service at Peninsula Memorial Park will be held Monday, November 18 at 3 p.m.

    What a great friend and co-worker for 40 years. Lots of laughs and fun while getting the work done. Lots of stories we could tell. Rest in peace buddy!

    Dilly was a hoot, was a pleasure working with him and for him in X15 fab shop. Also had the pleasure working with him in X10 planning under Russell Blanchard. My 1st encounter with Dilly was in 1977 on 3rd shift. He will be missed. RIP!!

    Dilly was truly a unique individual. He was a good friend for many years in the Fab shop. What-a-Burger will never be the same without him. Rest in peace my friend
