Evelyn Hancock Hopkins, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was a native of Brooklyn, NY, and resided in York County for the past eight years. Evelyn cherished being a stay-at-home mother to her two children. She was a devoted Methodist throughout her life.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Hancock; her brothers, John Hancock and Edward Hancock; her sister, Claire Kubel; and her first husband, Cecil Small.
She is survived by her loving husband of eight years, William Hopkins; son, Jim Small; daughter, Barbara Pierce; five grandchildren, Virginia Juarez, William Small, Chad Pierce, Amanda Gum, and Welsey Pierce; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will have a visitation at Peninsula Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Peninsula Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Miller Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
