Glenna C. Carroll

Glenna C. Carroll, age 63, passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2024.

She was born into an Air Force Family on November 20, 1961, in Oklahoma City to Richard and Barbara Clark. As a young child, the family lived in many different states, including Texas, where she became an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and spent two years in Okinhowa.

Glenna is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara VonWald; father, Richard Clark Sr.; and her beloved son, SSG. Ian Paul McLaughlin passed away while defending his country’s freedom in Afghanistan.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Carroll; her grandchildren, Grayson and his mother, Kayla, Madeline, Ella, and Ian Jr.; sister, Linda (Troy); brother, Rick (Carolyn); nephew, Glenn; and nieces, Samantha and Rachel.

Glenna was a respected Industrial Sales Professional possessing avast knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications. During her career, she was employed by WESCO Inc., JOKEL Inc., and Swisslog International.

Glenna’s departure from this world will forever create memories of her kindness, beauty, loyalty to friends, and commitment to family that we will carry in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

A private interment service will be held later.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or The Wounded Warrior Project.

    I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Glenna’s passing. She was a valued colleague and also a wonderful person who always brightened the day. She will be greatly missed by all of her Swisslog family.
