David C. Pool

David C. Pool, 64, entered eternal rest on May 23, 2024, his birthday. David was born in Newport News, VA, in 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Pool, and his eldest brother, Charles.

Survivors include his son, Zachary (Casey); daughter, Aubrey (Kyle); granddaughter, Cecilia; his brother, Wiley (Brenda); and sisters, Faye (Mike) and Gloria (Oot). He ‘loved and was loved’ by nieces and nephews, Joshua (Becky), Tamara (Wally), Allison (Brian), Christina (Gabe), Carrie, Charles (Gayla), Jared (Nikki), Jeremy, 18 great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew. Other loved ones who held a special place in his heart were Melinda, Bryce, Gwen (Marko), Corinne, and Shay.

David and Wiley carried on the family business, Pool’s Window and Door, for 35 years after the death of their father. He was currently employed by Ferguson Enterprises, where he traveled the United States on a regular basis.

David loved his family. His world revolved around Zack and Aubrey and how proud he was of them. People meant everything to him. He had a knack for listening to what people valued and loved giving them gifts they would truly enjoy. He loved music, Christmas, and bringing laughter. He always appreciated a good pun and came up with many original ones. One of his greatest delights while traveling was having a fresh audience for jokes and stories at each destination. David loved sports. Whether he was watching the Masters or a little league game, David appreciated competition and seeing people perform to the best of their abilities. He was the life of the party, the presence you hoped would be near, and the one you knew would be happy to see you. He will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed.

To the family of David Pool. Sorry to hear about the passing of David, He will be missed in life. I went to Bluefield College with David we were in the same fraternity together, he truly loved his family we knew each of them . His parents brothers and sisters. One of the greatest moments I remember was David hitting a homerun at Bowen Field on the 3rd base line. He ran those bases like it was a inside the park run, never showing down. May David Rest in Peace . In His Service Robert Hawkes

Wiley and family, I am so sorry to learn about David’s passing. I just got off the phone with Jared and he broke the news to me. I was out of town for the Union Grove fiddle fest (you remember going and waking me up the first time they ever called my name for an award) or I certainly would have been present at the funeral. David was quite a man and always enjoyed the music and witty conversation. Keep the precious memories. Gaylon
