Mark Steven Adams

Mark Steven Adams, 66, passed away at the home he loved on Monday, April 1, 2024. Mark is survived by his mother, Arnette Adams, sister Dianne Puckette (Larry), and brother Marvin Adams, Jr. He had several nephews and nieces including Jeff Puckette (Mary Hannah), Jenn Turnage (children Hunter and Hannah), and Caleb Adams.

Mark worked for many years at the Lowe’s Contractor Yard, where he made special, and long-lasting friendships. After his retirement in 2007, and the passing of his father in 2014, he graciously stepped in as the foreman of his family. He took care of anything and everything that needed attention, whether at the family’s homestead, or their rental properties. Mark especially enjoyed time spent in the family garden and sharing the bounty with those in his community, a tradition that has been carried over for many decades. While he loved his home state of Virginia, he would count the days leading up to his annual travels to Thailand.

He truly was one-of-a-kind with a wonderful sense of humor. Mark leaves an unfillable void and will be greatly missed. He was loved by many; all who treasure the years they had with him and rejoice in knowing that he is reunited with his late beloved father, Marvin Adams (Pop).

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 5-7:30pm at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News. His funeral will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, on Friday, April 12, at 12pm, with the burial taking place at Peninsula Memorial Park. Pastor Tommy Davidson officiating.
