Bernard “David” Rippon, 80, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was born on June 5, 1943, in Nassawandox, Eastern Shore, VA. David was a graduate of Hampton High School and Kee Business College. He retired from Howmet Corporation as a cost accountant. After retirement from Howmet, he served as a custodian for Orcutt Baptist Church for twelve years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard David and Louise Mae Rippon (Clary).

He is survived by his daughter, Traci McAbee and her husband David of Florida; son, Tim Rippon and his wife Lynn of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Timothy W. Nelson and his wife Anne of Montpelier, VA, and Stephen C. Nelson and his husband Peter Vitale of Avon, NC; sister, Ruth Johnson and her husband Melvin of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren, Nick McAbee (Audrey) of Yorktown, VA, Timothy Nelson (Emily) of Round Hill, VA, Laura Nelson of Portsmouth, Maria Nelson of VA Beach, Roy Nelson of Denver CO, AJ Nelson of St. Paul, MN, and Sam Nelson of Bozeman, MT; three great-grandsons, Connor and Camden McAbee of Yorktown, VA, and Timothy (Tripp) Nelson of Round Hill, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.

At David’s request, there will be no funeral.
