Mansford Welton Masters, IV “Manny,” 32, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023.  He was a native of Newport News, worked for six years for HII Newport News Shipbuilding, and was a member of First Church, Newport News, Virginia.

Manny’s great passion was drawing; he loved creating portraits.  He was a lover of music.  Manny loved his family, friends, and cats and always participated in the family’s Sunday dinners.
Manny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mansford W. Masters, Jr. and Dolly Masters.  He is survived by his parents, Harriet Slocum, husband Mark Slocum; father, Mansford W. Masters III, and wife Linda C. Masters; aunts, Catherine Davis and Candace Fay Masters; grandparents, John and Alwine Crosby; uncles Johnny Crosby, Walter Slocum, and Kevin Slocum; aunt, Beth Slocum; close cousin, Steven Crosby; and his furry babies, Razzell and Valentine.

The family will receive friends at Peninsula Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 1, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m..  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Mosely officiating.  The interment will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park.
