David Eugene Harvey
David Eugene Harvey, 77, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. He was a lifelong Peninsula resident. David graduated from Ferguson High School in 1963, where he was a member of the football and wrestling team. He attended the University of Richmond (Class of 1968) and was a four-year football starter, playing tackle offense and defense as number 64. David worked for Newport News Shipyard and built close to one thousand homes for Hajar Custom Homes. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, or playing golf. David coached Little League Football and Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda D. Harvey; and his parents, William Howard Harvey and Hattie Virginia Harris.
David is survived by his daughter, Carey D. Lee; son, Michael D. Harvey; and grandchildren, Aaron Lee, Austin Lee, and Landon Harvey.
