Elizabeth Gee “Boo” Taylor, 101, of Newport News, VA, passed away on October 3, 2023, at the Chesapeake Retirement Community. She was born to the late Charles and Julia Gee on July 27, 1922, in Richmond, VA.

Boo married Thomas, employed by Newport News Shipbuilding, and moved to Newport News to live with him in 1942. With her husband, she was a long-time member of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the James River Country Club. She also volunteered with the Hampton Roads Junior League.

Boo was a dedicated homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family is extremely grateful for her long, healthy, and happy life and for the warm memories they have of her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Temple Taylor (Tommy), and her sisters, Douglas Gee Baldwin and Frances Heath Gee.

Boo is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Mauzy (Betty) of Norfolk, VA, Alan Taylor and his wife Betsy of Newport News, and Thomas Taylor, Jr. (Tommy) of Long Branch, NJ; two grandchildren, Alan Taylor, Jr.(Coe) and his wife Zoe, and Inga Schaus and her husband Nathaniel; and one great-grandchild, Clayton Taylor (Clay).

The family would like to thank the staff of the Chesapeake for the caring support given to Boo and her family.

A private graveside service will be held.
